Have you moved away from home? Whether that be abroad or interstate. Sometimes we may miss our friends and family as they are far away. As a student you may at times feel a little isolated so, it is important to reach out for relevant support groups in this time. Check out some ex-patriot groups on the net such as meetup.com to connect with your fellow compatriots in Sydney.

What are your interests? For example, if you like sports check out what sporting groups are around your local area and you might make some life-long friends. Make time for perusing things you like to do such as bush walking. However, you also need to ensure that you continue to meet your study commitments such as assessment due dates. This may require some time management skills on your part.

There are many relevant support services that can help you in your time here in Sydney. If you are feeling homesick, please talk to the friendly student services team at AVLC. They can help suggest any relevant support services, which may help make your stay more comfortable.
